Establishing a Single Window

An increasing number of countries have established or plan to establish a National Single Window for Trade, and there are several initiatives for Regional Single Windows.

A Single Window is now commonly understood to be an IT platform to lodge information and documents related to regulatory, i.e. required by law, procedures for the import, export and transit of goods.
It facilitates the exchange of trade relevant information between government agencies and traders and between traders and other service providers from the private sector.

This itinerary will present the Single Window concept, its benefits, pre-conditions and success factors for the implementation and tools prepared by trade facilitation organizations.
