Content and structure
A National Trade Facilitation Roadmap should be written in plain language and should be comprehensive and easy to understand by all stakeholders. Detailed technical information should be moved to annexes to increase readability.
It is suggested that the Roadmap document contains eight chapters as shown in the graphic below. The first four chapters (Vision, Baseline, Goals and Activities) focus on the development of the content of the Roadmap – what we want to do and how we will do it. Chapters 5 to 7 cover the implementation plan for the Roadmap – who will to what, and when, and with what resources. The last chapter looks at the risks and assumptions underpinning the document.
The structure and content of each of these chapters are detailed in Sections 3.1 to 3.8 of the Itinerary.
