Purpose: To provide an international basis for the standardization of documents used in international trade and transport and for visual display representations of such documents

Summary: The Recommendation No. 1 presents the United Nations Lay- out Key for trade documents, the rules for the location of codes used in this context and introduces the United Nations System of Aligned Trade Documents. It should be read together with the “Guidelines for Application. Informative Annex to Recommendation No. 1“, adopted in March 2001. (ECE/TRADE/270)-
